The Long Train Ride to Italy

We went to Italy by train. It was a red toot toot train that tooted a lot. It was slower than a car & it stopped a lot at stations. You could open the windows. It smelt of smoke when you went through the tunnels. We saw trees, logs, a castle, a church & old houses from the train. We saw a big a dark and light blue river.

When we got there we were in Slovenia. Just across the road was Italy and we walked it Italy most of the time. They speak differently in Italy. They had heaps of cafes. The ice cream cafe had heaps of ice creams in it. It has been boiling like lava so we have had lots of ice cream. When we arrived the shops were shut because all the people had gone home for lunch and some of the school kids too. The shops opened again after lunch. The shops were very very little and were packed with things. There was a ball and chain in the castle. We found the castle by a map and by following an old wall. It was a very old castle, it has 3 stories, it was made of stones. We went into the jail. The jail was like a little cave with a wooden bed. We saw a spear with a spike that could do through your head and sharp wedge near the end that was used for knocking an animal out for them to eat. I ran home from the train station in the dark. I raced mum on my scooter.
